Why it's unique: The product was created with the guidance of a team of childhood and teen psychologists. San Francisco-based artist Lindsay Stripling was inspired to create artworks to help children talk about their emotions, spark imagination and identify and love their uniqueness!
We believe it's important to take a proactive approach to our kids' mental health, in the same way we encourage them to eat well and exercise.
About the art: Each card is a mini artwork! Similar to , Hope Cards Kids Edition art is thought provoking, non-binary, diverse and intended to show the humanity and opportunity for children in mental wellness.
Why a kids edition: We listened to our customers who kept asking us to create Hope Cards for children. The pandemic has hit children on multiple fronts. Many have experienced social isolation during lockdowns, family stress, a breakdown of routine and anxiety about the virus. School closures, remote teaching and learning interruptions have set back many at school. Some parents have had job and income losses, creating financial instability—and exacerbating parental stress. Thousands of children have lost a parent or grandparent to the disease. According to the New York Times, the number of children who need urgent mental health care has been on the rise for years, and spiked during the pandemic.

HOW TO USE:
There are many ways that you can use your Hope Cards with the kids in your life. Here are just a few examples.
- Kids, parents and therapists can easily divide the deck between mental exercises and affirmations should they wish to do so. A shooting star denotes the affirmations and a butterfly denotes the mental exercises.
- Encourage your child to select a card randomly every day, and make this a daily ritual. Talk about the card's intention with them and allow them the space to share their feelings. Listen to understand!
- Bust out Hope Cards during a play date.
- Meals are a nice time to utilize Hope Cards. Every one in the family can select a card and talk about what it personally means to them.
- Toss a Hope Card in their backpack or lunch box to remind your child of their superpowers!
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
is a San Francisco based illustrator and teacher. Her work is always coming from a place of layering, texture and experimentation. She likes to keep things fun and explore themes of nature, time, memory, community and psychology. When Lindsay isn’t drawing or painting in her backyard in the Sunset, she can be found walking in Golden Gate Park or looking for a new book at the library.
